About the Artist
Luo Tong has produced a number of successful independent films, including the acclaimed and award-winning documentary 'The Six' (2021), executive produced by Oscar-winner James Cameron. As a director, her work has focused on telling compelling stories of real people her hometown of Shanghai. 'Shanghai Girls' (2023), recently released nationwide in cinemas, explores themes of womanhood, aging and nostalgia, and has been recognised for its power to speak across generational and gender divides. Her latest documentary, 'M on the Bund' (2024), champions transnational engagement through culture and community, and is executive produced by Christopher Doyle.
