Rule Breakers - Benefit Screening at Cameo Cinema

Rule Breakers - Benefit Screening

125 mins | Rated PG (for thematic material and some violent content.)

Directed by Bill Guttentag

Starring Nasser Memarzia, Ali Fazal, Nikohl Boosheri, Fahim Fazli, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Christian Contreras, Noorin Gulamgaus, Amber Afzali, Sara Malal Rowe, Mariam Saraj, Nina Hosseinzadeh

Cameo Cinema Foundation, Soroptimist St. Helena Sunrise, and Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory (SISL) cordially invite you to the screening of Rule Breakers, a dramatic feature film inspired by the true story of the Afghan all-girls robotics team who overcame tremendous obstacles to learn coding and robotics and then traveled the world competing in international robotics competitions. The film was directed and co-written by Stanford GSB lecturer and two-time Academy Award winner Bill Guttentag.

After the screening, dive into a vibrant Q&A session with Guttentag and Amelia Hardy, a Computer Science PhD student at Stanford in SISL. She appears in the film and wrote much of the on-screen code for Rule Breakers.

But there is more! Indulge in a delightful post-film reception at the MEUSE Gallery, located at 1331 Main Street, St. Helena, starting at 4:00 pm following the discussion. Tickets are $90 inclusive of the film, Q&A, reception, and include Napa Valley wines paired with culinary delights from local chefs.

Your participation not only promises you a memorable afternoon but also supports the Cameo Cinema, as well as the vital work of Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory and Soroptimist St. Helena Sunrise. The Soroptimist are a non-profit organization recognized by the United Nations, dedicated to empowering women and girls through educational and professional opportunities.

This community event was made possible through the generous support of Jennifer Kline and The Bank of America.
