"The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” is the story of William Kamkwamba was born in the country of Malawi, in Africa. When he was fourteen years old, a terrible drought hit the village where he lived. People had nothing to eat. When his family can no longer afford his school fees, he sneaks into the library and using science (physics) learns how to build a windmill to save his village from a famine. This film is an emotional display of the power of human ingenuity and what people can accomplish in trying times.
There will be a Q&A following the film on "Clean Energy: We Can do it Here" with Anna Brittain, Executive Director of NAPA GREEN and Beth Novak Milliken, President and CEO of Spottswoode Estate Vineyard and Winery.
