The Odyssey is probably the most famous story in history about a man trying to return home. It is a story about life after war, about a man returning from a world of violence and loss, carrying with him a glory that does not set him free. Odysseus, king of Ithaca, spent ten years fighting in the Trojan War, then another ten years wandering the sea on his way back to Penelope and Telemachus. Along the way, he encounters Cyclopes, sirens, gods, storms, and the underworld.
